The views and opinions expressed may not be those of Monash University.

specific Monash staff member has been said to be trying to trace students
viewing this web site.
The
said staff members who sent below-mentioned emails also threatened to trace
the usage of people who view this web site. This is not a problem for people
who are not viewing this web site from Monash. When viewing this web site
at Monash University it is possible for staff to view logs of your web
usage. In addition it is possible to view what time and date the forum
was last updated and compare that time with a list of who was currently
online at Monash at that time. We are unsure of how this relates to privacy
laws but consider it to be at least unethical.
The
same specific staff member has spent some time trying to trace the DNS
numbers of people leaving messages on the Forum but this is difficult and
probably a waste of time (and our money) on their part.
We
specifically request that staff do not write to the
Forum unless they have positive feedback to provide. Please do not
preach. We also request that people DO leave a contact email.
We
request that people do not use abusive words when
leaving messages in the forum. This is to ensure the web site remains within
the site guidelines for this site provider.
We
advise people leaving messages in the forum that certain Monash staff have
in the past sent threatening messages to those people who leave their email
address on the forum. You may choose to ignore these emails or may choose
to subscribe to an email service that allows you to screen messages.
